A more sustainable future and better employment go hand-in-hand, Frans Timmermans said today as he visited Bavaria, Germany.
The PES Common Candidate travelled to Munich to discuss work-life balance, digitisation, and sustainable transport with a Works Council from BMW, one of the largest employers in Bavaria.
Accompanied on the trip by PES Secretary General Achim Post and local SPD colleagues, Frans Timmermans visited BMW World, which showcases the manufacturers’ greenest and most advanced vehicles. The visit included a discussion about how to increase the up-take of electric cars and other forms of sustainable transport.
The PES manifesto – A New Social Contract for Europe - sets out our ambition to protect the environment through the renewal of European industry, to make our continent a leader in sustainable technology.
